Maltapost To Issue "Scenery" Stamps

On 1st October 2007, the Philatelic Bureau of Maltapost issued a set of five stamps depicting five landscapes by paintings John Martin Borg of Malta and Gozo painted in watercolour,. The set has been offset printed by Printex Ltd on Maltese Crosses watermarked paper and are available in sheets of ten, are 44.0mm x 31.0mm in size, with a perforation of 1.9 x 14.0 (comb).

The paintings selected, show the Mdina skyline as seen from Mtarfa (11c / Euro 0.26 stamp), a Qrendi scene (16c / Euro 0.37) with a windmill near a farmhouse and a church in the misty background, the Vittoriosa waterfront (37c / Euro 0.86) where the old blends with the new, Gozo's Mgarr Harbour (46c / Euro 1.07) with the Gozo ferry leaving harbour and the famous church landmark, and idyllic
Xlendi Bay in Gozo (76c / Euro 1.77).
